Bidra med feedbackWe chose the family and we could not have been impressed. Large ziti large meatballs large sauce. This place is a find. Don't miss.
The pizza was really good and didn't leave me feeling sick like other pizza places do. I liked the light sauce and the banana peppers and pepperoni combination was delightful.
Excellent food, very courteous staff. I've used them to cater group lunches and the food is always very good.
Great Time and Great Food. My wife and I were looking for a place to meet up with some friends who were in town for the holiday. By chance, we stumbled upon Banana Peppers as a convenient meeting point. The restaurant, which we learned is known for their delivery and catering service, provides a friendly and personal atmosphere for friends to get together and catch up. The team at BP makes you feel like part of the family perfectly suited for its Italian fare. The food is excellent. We shared several entrees and appetizers in order to get a sampling of what BP had to offer. Needless to say, we did not leave unsatisfied. We started with fresh breaded zucchini and mozzarella sticks and of course the signature stuffed hot banana peppers (If you like some heat you'll love them, if not have a side of ranch dressing or a cold beer near by). Next up was pizza. They make pizza the way it is meant to be, fresh dough, gooey cheese and a solid crust. After the pizza, we moved on to the main courses by sharing a piece of the Four Cheese Lasagna, a sampling of the chef recommended Chicken Romano and the zesty beans and greens. The homemade marinara sauce that accompanied the lasagna is a star unto itself. The Romano is highlighted by a light and crispy taste that surrounds a moist chicken breast. But the real take away for me was the Beans and Greens. A simple twist on this old favorite, the chef adds a little extra kick with a twist of lemon. Nice. We finished the meal off by sharing homemade tiramisu…delicious. If you are in the area (or not) give Banana Peppers a try. Call ahead to make sure you have table. The owners told us that they'll be remodeling soon which will only add to the atmosphere of this great place tucked away in the South Hills.
This place has had several owners over the past few years. It used to be a sit down restaurant when Dolly owned the place, and the food and service were outstanding! However, with an aging clientele (this was a few years before the many new housing plans were developed and built) and an unfortunate family emergency, Dolly sold the place. The restaurant portion, though small, was always cozy and warm, and the staff, particularly Barb, treated you like close family. Although Dolly and Barb have moved on to other ventures, the quality service and attention to detail have continued. The newest owners have converted the restaurant to a cafe, and they serve breakfast food and drink in the AM. From lunch on, they serve excellent pizza, appetizers and entrees. Their catering is exceptional; both our family and friends have used them for parties and the guests rave about the food. Banana Peppers is a South Hills hidden gem!
