Panificio Cattarossi V. Di Blasutig A. C.

On our way back from the Devil's Bridge, we popped in here for a slice of Gubana which was a BIG slice and really good and an ice cream. A simple, classic panificio that serves honest local recipes. Happily sat and ate our purchases on the little bench outside. Very satisfied.

Our family has been coming to this clean and friendly pasticceria because they are famous for strucchi. This is a small pillow-shaped pastry coated in sugar and filled with gubane (nuts, sugar, raisins). They also serve a wide variety of pastries. The environment is friendly and welcoming. The location is on a very narrow yet busy street (the one leading to the bridge) so be careful when you are stepping out of the store.

Took some pastries back to the States... I ate them all before I was able to take a photo of it... it was yummy

I gufi, le mini gubanette e gli struzzi sono i dolci tipici di Cividale del Friuli. La differenza risiede nella pasta, che può essere lievitata e cotta al forno, fritta o pasticcino. Il ripieno è a base di noci, uva passa, ecc. davvero deliziosi!
