Bidra med feedbackThis is a hidden gem about minutes from the town center in a railroad yard. The food is copious and cooked to perfection! Lots of meat beef ribs, tongue, blood sausage and kidneys as well as cold cuts/cheese platter, salad and amazing desserts....El Ferroviario is filled with Argentinians not touristy. Clients savor their meal spending several hours at the table. We went at lunchtime but in the evenings they have three restaurants open and a long waiting line. Highly recommend this authentic dining experience!
This place is located under a freeway overpass, next to the grubby side of a stadium in a sketchy part of town. But the ambience is throwback, old school Buenos Aires. The service is excellent. The meat is phenomenal. The prices are ludicrously cheap. I...ordered the half portion of asado enough meat for people arrived. Same for my lunch companion. The waiter was helpful is steering us to a lower bill by encouraging us to share water and sides. The location makes it a slog from the center of town. The adventurous can take the train from Once Station to Liniers and walk blocks. It's worth the trip.
This extremely popular Argentine steak house is incomparable in all of Argentina. They do not take reservations! One must collect a ticket and wait as much as two hours to be called for service. Multiple dining stations abound; some in tents with faans; others in...air-conditioned buildings. The menu is profoundly diverse in local meats, and more. Portions are very large. This world traveler has never experienced better beef anywhere! Do not miss this experience if you are in Buenos Airs!
Local friends, wanted to show and take me to a special place, the locals call it a Bodegon, and not a restaurant. Far from the center, we went on a Tuesday after a long weekend and holiday the previous day, when we arrived there were...few tables taken...immediately we were seated and taken care, portions are huge, sometimes enough for three hungry people...so be careful...the place is for meat lovers as for the asado ancho, or wide asado, the meat is a bit dry, so take that on account when ordering, if you think on going on weekends do make reservations.....but the place is huge.
We went here for dinner since it was recommended. It was not that good. We spent more time cutting fat off the meat than eating it. By the time we were done, we had as much fat by weight as meat. The quality of the...meat was only so so. We definitely had better meals at other restaurants in the city which didn’t require such a long taxi ride. Place seemed very touristy. We really didn’t think it was worth the effort. It is entertaining to see all the people waiting, but you can do better.
