Bidra med feedbackHow do they have a health score of an A when they allow filth flies in food I used to LOVE this place Then I went inside one day and was very disturbed. I continued to read the health rating on Yelp and I will never eat here again. Absolutely disgusting
Well...... if you are looking to order a $20 piece of bread, I have the spot for you!!!! I ordered here a few months ago, and it was great even posted a glowing review. The ratio of meat to bread is now to 10/90. I know we are going through rough times but please don't make me pay $20, plus tax, tip and delivery fees $30!!!!!!! for a $1 piece of bread with a dash of meet in velveeta. Photo attached.
Quite underwhelming..... I had a Philly cheesesteak which was absolutely huge, too big for me but probably just right for the average man. The downside was that the meat had no flavor and the bread was quite plain. There wasn't much to balance my taste buds, it was just missing the alchemy of flavors overall. Not to mention the staff was so unexcited to see me and had an attitude. The upstairs is still shut down entirely, I'm not sure how this place is going to survive on takeout!
I love Shorty 's! I can 't believe I haven 't written a review before this. I absolutely love their Phillys. Not only are they authentic, but there is something for everyone at Shorty 's. How can you go wrong with food that 's made to order? They offer 14 different Philly 's, South Philly Style Sandwiches, Vegan Sandwiches. The chicken steak and steak Phillys are loaded with a 1/2 lb of meat. They also have Shorty 's Salad 's and sides such as Plain Fries, Italian Fries, Old Bay Fries, Bacon Cheese Fries, Truffle Fries, Mozzarella Triangles, Yuengling Rings. They also have Chicken Fingers, BBQ Chicken Fingers, Buffalo Chicken Fingers, Buffalo Wings, BBQ Wings, Lemon Pepper Wings, and Cheesesteak Spring Rolls. If you wanted to have a catered lunch there 's five different office lunch options that consists of cheesesteak or chicken cheesesteaks, fries, and the option to add peppers on the side for an additional fee. The sirloin steaks are thinly sliced for the cheesesteaks. The chicken breasts are thinly sliced for the chicken cheesesteaks. The pork loin is boneless and center cut with a homemade garlic jus . Shorty 's offers three different cheeses: Whiz, American Cheese, and Provolone (Sharp or Mild). You can add homemade Broccoli Rabe, your choice of Italian hot peppers or diced cherry hot peppers to any sandwich. Fun fact: The bread is shipped in from Philly and baked at each one of the Shorty 's locations. Shorty 's also offers Weekend Brunch as well as Happy Hour. I friggen die and go to heaven whenever we have Philly 's from here. We both get the sirloin cheesesteaks with onions and mild provolone cheese. He asks for peppers on his. We 've also had the Italian fries which are exceptionally good. The Yuengling Onion Rings are bomb.com. Get yourself some! It may be hard to duplicate a Philly from the original birthplace, but man oh man does Shorty 's does an incredible job. From the sirloin steak, the delicious cheese, to the soft baked hoagie I 'm in heaven every single time my hunny and I order take out from here. I had placed mine in the oven to make them crispy again.
In the era of COVID 19, I make sure to try to revisit a lot of the places I 've been to in the past. So when I was in the area I thought about Shorty 's, especially since they close their Brooklyn location it 's harder to get around to them. We entered the door and upstairs is blocked off with barroom furniture, so we followed the sign and went directly downstairs. I should have left instead. 1st issue: the menu posted on the glass, at the register is no longer accurate. If your prices have been different for any amount of time that menu should reflect that, whether it is a sticker, marker, tape, post it or whatever. I have no problem with price changes, but they are quite surprising when to regular cheesesteaks total 31. 2nd issue: no sanitizer anywhere and the space is dingy and not so nice. There was a boiler room of sorts with pipes and such with ripped insulation hanging down from the ceiling. I wish I saw this before ordering. And kitchen staff kept coming in and out. I really wish I had seen this. 3rd issue: The indignant cashier with a droopy mask, more interested in a conversation with co workers. This really should have been my 1st cue to leave, but once again, trying to support local businesses I know are decent. 4th issue: the food. Two sandos felt like one. Very lightweight. I 've been to multiple locations on many occasions and this didn 't feel like a Shorty 's original. Still, I kept positive. I was sooooo wrong. What happened to this place? The quality of the cheesesteak was awful! Tasteless, fatty meat, an even thinner cheese sauce and a few onions sprinkled in. Fishing out gristle while you 're eating is not my idea of a good time. It is very obvious that they have changed the bread from the original kind they used to have brought in from philly. Now its regular old hero bread trimmed from some local Bodega! The amount of filling in each sandwich has been cut down to half! And after eating this tasteless waste of time, my stomach decided it was 'no bueno ' on the stomach too! What the hell? So let 's get this straight..... charging more for less quality and quantity a dingy space and half ed service!? 30 minutes of asking God to help my digestive system. No thank you! This was infuriating. This was a 0 star experience. The two there were for nostalgia.
