Bidra med feedbackFood prepared by your momma. Thanks super sweet. It's hard to find someone who try's as hard and delivers to make you happy.
I've only gotten one thing here so far, the duck sandwich, several times. It is so sublime that I have yet to try anything else, although I did get a pork sandwich once for my friend, who liked it. The duck meat is juicy, delicious, perfect. Its quite out of the way for me, so I typically jump on a Citibike from elsewhere in the East Village just for this sandwich. I suppose I'll have to try a few more items. Eventually. But man I love this sandwich!
Actually really sad to give 2 stars to this place. The owner/woman working there was so sweet. I really enjoyed talking to her. The tofu is fried which I like, but is in little cubes and not a giant slab. She does give jalapenos, but you must let her know otherwise she will not spend the ingredients. The sauce was not even mayo lol. There was a lot of pickled carrots in the sandwich. I want to say that she tried her best. The bread is also the usual soft bread that they use in NYC to make banh mi. She does take card so I guess that is a positive, but I know stores usually want cash instead of card due to the processing fee so I gave her cash instead. Unfortunately, the tofu sandwich she made has something wrong with it because I ended up getting stomach cramps and having to abandon my activities to go home. I immediately had to use the bathroom and made an organic miso soup with organic tofu to quell the stomach. Everything was better after that. The entire experience made me think of a nice friend where you can tell their heart and effort is in it, but the results are not good. Tempted to go back to try the pho to see if it is any good.
Dirty restaurant with visible roach bait in the corners. Counter filled with random stuff. Looks like a hoarder’s desk. One employee, an older lady who is doing everything. Worst powdery milk tea I’ve had (and GROSSLY overpriced). I ordered 2 banh mi sandwiches which were not good; the meat did not taste fresh. I couldn’t hear kitchen sounds or cooking sounds. The meat tasted like it was pre-cooked and heated up. The sandwiches were also overpriced for what it was. Never going here again.
Get the pork banh mi! I’m Vietnamese and these taste like the ones my grandma used to make…AKA delicious! The people who own the place are so kind and it’s so good
