Hot Spot Nabe has an interesting concept of hotpot.I came here on a Sunday around 2:30 PM.I ordered the Special Sauce Chicken, Hong Kong Style Chicken Pot, and hot pot items such as shrimp wonton, fatty beef platter, and vegetables. My friends and I ordered three bowls of rice along with our food. The Special Sauce Chicken is served as a cold dish. The Special Sauce Chicken is Hainanese chicken drizzled with spicy chili oil. The portion of the chicken seemed like a whole chicken. The portion was pretty big.The Hong Kong Style Chicken Pot came with a small portion of chicken. But, the chicken did have a lot of meat. The sauce base of the Hong Kong Style Chicken was soy sauce. The concept of hot pot in this dish is you eat the marinated chicken, and when you 're done eating the marinated chicken, the staff will pour hot water into the bowl and it becomes a hotpot. You then can start adding your hotpot veggies, meat, fish balls, and or wontons. There is a Con to this hotpot dish because after the staff pours hot water into the bowl to turn it into a hotpot, the grease from the chicken does stay therefore, the hotpot becomes oily.By the time we finished our meal, the rice did not come out yet. The staff asked us if we still wanted rice, but since we were all full we declined the offer.Overall, I would come here with my friends again.
ONE WORD: OVERPRICED (Scroll down to see how much I paid) We started off with the Hong Kong Style Spicy Chicken Pot and it was probably the most disappointing dish ever. There 's no way you charge us $42 for a pot that came half full and the chicken was 80% bones (barely any meat). The flavor was decent initially, but it gets overwhelming after a while. Server added soup to the chicken pot in preparation for hotpot, which became bland and oily (not good flavors at all). We ordered meats for the hotpot and it was whatever, honestly you can 't expect much (most items on the menu for hotpot go for around $5-$7). They also provided their own sauce in the beginning and separately, you have the option to add scallion, cilantro, or garlic. We walked out of here paying around $25 per person and an empty stomach. Good luck.
Take your money elsewhere!! Expensive food without leaving with a full stomach and terrible service.
Some of the food was great but the rest was pretty average at best. Customer service was great at the beginning (before the food but trailed away towards the end. (Missing food orders, forgetting food orders. Definitely felt like other tables had better service than ours. Overall displeased with the experience and the prices does not reflect on taste nor service. I personally wouldn't come back, your miles may vary.
