Came for a wood burning brick oven pizza, and left with a fresh cut porterhouse, some of the most delicious mozzarella I 've ever had, fresh bread, and some other Italian deli items. Everything was incredible and Sorrento 's is saving me a trip to the Bronx. On to the pizza nice crunch on the crust, and the inside is soft and doughy kinda like a world class bagel. The dough is clearly fresh as all the sauce, cheese and toppings sit nicely without sliding off. The first thing I remember tasting was an eruption of ripe tomato a very bright taste (I thought to myself, bright isn 't a taste is it? . They touch it up with fresh basil and shaved reggiano. Seems nothing has had changed here in years, there 's something to be said for tradition. I hear Anthony is retired and the Steve 's are in, not intending to mess with a winning formula of quality and service at a really fair pe
Delish!!!! The pizzas are absolutely delicious You can call early to place an order for evening Only thing last time I ordered the pizza was burned I drove almost an hour to buy it so I was a little upset but most of the time was it's perfect
Pizza is ok. It's good. It's not great. It's not wow. They are very nice and accommodating. Meatballs are firm as they should be. Salad looks great but we didn't have one. Stuffed mushrooms wrapped in bacon were good as was the eggplant rollatini. But again not great. Cute store with Italian specialities to eat in or take out. Nice butcher shop and pastry selection but again not great. Iavarone is better for meats etc...and there is better pizza all over NY. All that being said, I would come back if in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way. And what's with $10 BYOB. That's nonsense. We go to BYOB joints all the time and are not charged corkage.
I have been here a couple of times. I thought I had left a review already. The store has Italian specialities. Fresh pasta, jarred store made sauce, frozen store made ravioli, gnocchi, and other specialty pastas. There's Italian meats and and other goodies. I only came for their pizza! They have a wood burning stove. The pizza is outrageously yummy. The guys that work there are great. We got a medium pie. Half plain and the other half had fresh ricotta, roasted garlic and prosciutto. They make their own mozzarella and ricotta. It's so good!!
Grabbed a pizza to-go from Sorrento's on Saturday afternoon. A very solid pie, assisted by their expertise in fresh ingredients and high-quality meats. Quality: Sorrento's is a well-known butcher shop in Long Beach, which has gained a great reputation for its pizza. So when visiting the area, decided to give it a shot. We ordered a Large Pie with Sausage and Mushrooms. My verdict is very good, largely thanks to the high quality toppings. The pizza itself is a bit doughy for my taste, making the corners a tough sell, but everything loaded on top is excellent. The sauce is fantastic, the cheese is great, though expect it a little gummy, and the sausage was out of this world. If I had to do it again I would stack on a few of their meats and some spots of ricotta, and I'm sure it would be a hit. Quantity: A Large Pizza is absolutely massive. Easily enough for 6 people to feast on. Value: $26 for a Large Pizza. $3-$6 for Additional Toppings on a Large. Ambiance: Sorrento's is a butcher and pizza shop located in Long Beach on Long Island. The shop has been around a while, and the green awning is well known to all residents of the area. They have a few tables outside, plus some more inside. Most folks seemed to be grabbing food to go, but it did seem like they were allowing a small number to eat-in. The inside of the space is bright and full of delicious food. It is tough to walk in for your order and not pick up a few other items to bring with you. Crowd: Call in your order as soon as they open. We were lucky to grab one of the last time slots available, but easily could have missed out. Service: Friendly staff doing the best they can to keep up with orders, while still getting guests the pizza they crave. Parking: Plenty of street parking in the area.
