Bidra med feedbackOne doesn't expect great service in Chinatown anywhere but this place seems to want to set the (low) standard. Still the food is good enough to make up for it. This visit we had the har gau, cheung fun, soft shell crab, calamari, beef with black bean sauce. Food was excellent. Served quickly. Piping hot. Robustly flavoured. Every last bit was devoured. Service was scary. Waitress would not allow us to order the steamed fish. Said it would take too long. To spread the fear and the pain, we took turns between the four of us to ask her for anything. To add a service charge on the bill at the end of all that just redefines hubris. I think they think it's all part of some cliched chinatown charm. Still, we are a family of foodies and will grit our teeth and return. At least it won't cost us over a 100 pounds to be insulted. Unless they relent and let us order the fish.
Visited this restaurant 2 years ago pre pandemic. Had Dim Sum with my wife at lunch on Friday. Food and service still the same. Excellent. Highly recommend. Come early or que. Will return
To start, the restaurant is outdated. Upon entering, a man standing next to the desk on the left showed a very rude attitude. He did not greet me, and when I asked to leave my small bag on a chair, he curtly responded, "DON'T take it with you." Despite not wanting to stay, my parents were already seated and about to order. The food was terrible, lacking flavor. When we requested dry noodles, they served us noodles that were half soft and half undercooked, tasting like paper. When we complained, they refused to change it. The staff and management were extremely rude. They do not deserve to be operating a restaurant in the heart of London. I have already reported them to the council regarding the health and safety of their basement toilets and the outdated restaurant decor. I recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs.
After reading the reviews, I was initially surprised by the many negative comments Royal Dragon had received. However, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered Dim Sum and found the food to be delicious. I had never tried jellyfish before, so it was a new experience for me. The bubble teas were also very tasty. Overall, we had a great time and the staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning to Royal Dragon in the future.
I think this is the worst experience I have had in Chinatown. Started ok when we ordered the drinks, but when we ordered the food it all came within 5 minutes of ordering. When the food arrived, instead of having noodle soup with beef, I received fat with some meat and noodles. Absolutely disgusting, my girlfriend had the same problem. I sent te dish back and they got offended saying that this was the way the dish was supposed to be. Don’t trust the pictures in the menu either. Also be aware, when you want to pay by card. Check the amount the actually type in! They tried putting £1,50 more.
