Bidra med feedbackShanghai 1930 took over the location previously occupied by Nelson 382, which had been there for many years. Despite their efforts, Nelson 382 could not keep up with changing demographics. When Shanghai 1930 opened, they made some subtle changes, such as adjusting the lighting and adding flat screen TVs for the Asian banquet crowd. We had dinner there recently and enjoyed the small cozy booths that can accommodate up to 6 people, offering a unique dining experience. My family has been to Shanghai 1930 four times since they opened, and we have never been disappointed. When my son chose this restaurant for his 21st birthday dinner, I was delighted. The cuisine at Shanghai 1930 is Shanghainese, so keep that in mind. The menu offers a small selection of dishes that are authentic to Shanghai, faithfully reproduced in the Shanghainese style. While the variety may be limited compared to Shanghai itself, the dishes are prepared in the traditional way. This restaurant is popular among those who appreciate good Shanghainese food, even if they may not be avid reviewers on platforms like Zomato. I personally had a great experience at Shanghai 1930. The service was excellent, and our waiter even jokingly referred to the forks and spoons we requested as 'Backup.' The value for money is also impressive, with a group of 11 people spending $400 on exceptional food and drinks in a unique dining atmosphere. I highly recommend making a reservation at Shanghai 1930, interacting with the staff, and enjoying a meal of authentic Shanghainese cuisine. You may even learn something new in the process. I will definitely be returning to Shanghai 1930 soon, even if I have to invent a special occasion to do so! Cheers!
I absolutely adore the authentic Shanghainese cuisine at this restaurant! If you enjoy Chinese/Shanghainese dishes, a clean, attractive, and cozy atmosphere, as well as complimentary parking, then this is the perfect restaurant for you.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant, enjoying the delicious traditional Shanghainese food and seafood dishes! The portions were generous and the seafood was very fresh. Our family also really enjoyed the vegetarian options. The restaurant has a great ambiance, perfect for couples or families looking to have a delicious meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, and there is ample free parking available. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Shanghainese cuisine and seafood, or simply wants to enjoy a great meal at a nice restaurant!
This is a shanghainese restaurant in Far East suburb. Traditionally a shanghainese dinner comes up with cold dishes, hot dishes, soup and fruit/sweet. All dishes tasted close to authentic shanghainese food, but personally they were a little bit too oily for me. Worth of mention is: the cold dish Kaofu (stir fried gluten/barn, black fungi, peanut with soy sauce); for hot dishes: the mud crab with noodle, and the deep fried fish with tomato flavoured sauce and pine nuts on it. Service was adequate!
Such a lovely Chinese restaurant hidden in the area. Service was so friendly, and the food was just great. Had the lobster noodles for $80/lb. Really delicious, good flavours. Will have to come back soon to try the other dishes.
