Benihana Puente Hills, Ca

It was uncomfortably hot inside. Need to cool the dining area. Steak and chicken were tough/overcooked. Chef did not smile at all but waitress was friendly.

Wanted to sit in bar before rest of group came and I was told they had no one to serve in the bar. How do you offer a happy hour and not allow anyone in there. I was very disappointed in that. The food was just ok. The only thing that was good was our server and cook. I’d go back if I was allowed to go in for happy hour!

Reserved a table at 745 pm and waited about 2 hours to get service but at that point we decided to leave. Please don’t seat us if there’s no chef, it’s ridiculous to wait that long to get served especially if you’re hungry.

Overall, this, Benihana is tired, not the cleanest, and in need of an update. We started out at the bar and were overcharged for two beers on happy hour.  Not provided with a receipt, and afterwords the bartender came back and said some thing about overcharging us. Still no receipt was provided. It was all very strange.  The chef that came to our table, had a very dirty smock. Not much engagement with the chef. He was just going through the motions. The server was lovely, attentive, and had a smile on her face. Overall, it is an OK place to eat, but we wouldn’t go out of our way to come back. Also, women’s restroom needed services.

Celebrated my wife's birthday with her family, party of 7, so we had our own private table and cooking show. Service was excellent and food was cooked perfectly. Everyone had a great time!!!
