Cafe 86 Chula Vista

Salt and pepper wings were not quite as expected, the typical salty garlic green onion combo wasn't there at all. But the wings themselves were very peppery and tasty (not cooked to death like most places) I would order them again. Chicken katsu was bottom tier, the thinnest sliver of chicken barely visible between the breading. Overcooked into chicken jerky. BBQ chicken was ok, the sauce was tangy and a bit spicy.

Service and atmosphere is really great but the coffee isn’t the best i thought trying a different drink would change my perspective of the coffee but it was honestly just

Your place for your ube cravings. Ube shakes, ube cupcakes, ube cookies, ube lattes, ube milk teas and more. The ambient is relaxing. The one where you can order a drink and do some work. The staff were amazingly friendly and patient. I know that their cookies and cupcakes are a hit at my place of work.

I walked up today 2/27/23 @0615. I can literally hear the 2 girls working chatting in the back with no regard for customers, or even just checking in the lobby if anyone is waiting. After 3 mins standing there I decided to call the store. Of course no answer, after the 8th time calling straight yes 8 times I decided to put it on speaker phone so the girls know that I’m calling the store. Since there was NO answer of course it went to speaker phone. Which they must of heard the cafe 86 intro stating they can’t come to the phone right now and both the workers looked around the corner at me in disgust. As if I bothered their conversation. I get it, their probably teenagers but I had kids in the care and with no other costumers I didn’t think I’d have to wait until her story was finished before I could order. Also 6pm at night. She state “NO boba right now “! Wth. It’s a boba store. I mean wth we’re they doing that they can’t even make the boba ahead of time ? Is this place going that down hill that a boba shop can’t make boba. Are the workers getting that lazy it’s easier to just say “ we don’t have boba right now “. Probably be the last time I buy anything from this shop. Not worth the 10 min wait while the workers have social hour
