Bidra med feedbackReally enjoyed this charming cafe where you can watch tofu being made. Fried tofu skins and brown sugar tofu pudding were both lovely.
We tried to come here yesterday around 14:00 but sadly they had sold out of the famous tofu skins, so we tried again at around 10:30 today. There was a queue both times we came and it sounds like they sell out of the tofu skins quite often. The menu is blissfully simple: tofu skins, soy milk (sweet or unsweetened), tofu pudding, and kimchi. We ordered a portion of tofu skins and a soy milk each. You need to pick up a yellow menu card and mark the quantity and sub-total cost of each of the things you want, then hand that over to the cashier, and you'll receive your order within about 30 seconds. The menu card isn't in English but there are signs above the kiosk with English translations so it's easy to match it up to the menu card. The tofu skins were fantastic. They were wonderfully chewy and you could really taste the soy beans which I feel you can't always with tofu. It was a brilliant breakfast and we intend to return tomorrow. It's also cool to watch the tofu skins being made in the factory to the right of the queue.
One of the best and most unexpected experiences on our Taiwan trip. Fresh soy products, I recommend trying them all.
You could see them making fresh soy products! The bean curd/tofu skin was good, quite salty. The dohua (soy pudding) was really good tasted so fresh and wasn’t too sweet.
