Viet - Chippendale (NSW)

This restaurant is fantastic! The food and atmosphere were amazing. We tried the pho, san Choi bao, and vermicelli noodles, all of which were packed with flavor and delicious. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

I took my friend to Spice Alley for lunch and we decided to try Mekong. The food was delicious overall. The papaya salad was fresh and tasty, but I found the lemongrass beef curry just okay. My friend enjoyed it though. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely go back again.

I was craving pho, but it wasn't my top choice on the list of restaurants recommended by my doctor for eating out. However, we decided to give it a try and ended up at this restaurant in Spice Alley. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, separate seating, and a liquor license. The pho was delicious and of good quality.

After one of the best dinners this year at Upper Mekong, we just had to try Lower Mekong. It didn't disappointed. More classic Vietnamese dishes elevated like their Pho. The tomato rice with the most moist fried chicken ever was the standout. For the price point, definitely value for money.

So there're two different restaurants in this 1 building. Mekong which is upstairs and apparently more upscale and Lower Mekong downstairs that serves Vietnamese street food. <br/ <br/ We ordered rice paper entree dish which turned out to be 2 small crispy rice papers with pork floss, chilli jam and some unidentifiable lump of something cold and rubbery. It was ok but I won't order it again.<br/ <br/ Then came our main course of lemongrass chicken curry and deep fried snapper topped with sweet sour chilli sauce. Both main dishes were really good; the curry was delicious and chicken was cooked till very tender, almost melt in your mouth. Fish was battered (whole fish) and deep fried and was cooked well, sauce was well balanced but there was very little sauce on the plate.<br/ <br/ We shared the coconut sago dessert which was ok but slightly overly sweetened.<br/ <br/ Overall it was a decent meal. Would go back for the curry and the fish.
