Bidra med feedbackWe happened upon Bar Toro on a beautiful day in May, outside the main tourist season. The bar was nicely busy and we chose a table overlooking an azure sea. A mixed salad was ample for two diners, but we also went for three tapas dishes, not anticipating how sizeable they were! The paella was delicious, as were the chicken pieces and croquettes. All were served good and hot by a comely, somewhat feisty lady whose ability in Spanglish knew no bounds. We whiled away a lovely lazy hour before ambling back to our hotel room for a siesta to sleep off the excesses, followed by a wonderful dip in the briney on the beach below the bar. Altogether this was an Elysian Fields experience that it would be nice to replicate some day.
We came here several times during our visit for drinks at sunset and once decided to try the food, starting with some local fish called asedios, which are similar to slip sole in England. They were good but far too many for just the two of us! We had cpas if manzanilla as well as a couple of glasses of local wine. All very good
Given its location right on the promenade you might not expect much effort from the staff. You would be wrong. They are very friendly and professional, the food is first rate and a reasonable price. I was recommended special of the day, a Dorado stuffed with iberico ham, absolutely fabulous. My wife had a seefood paella which was also amazing. Definitely recommended.
Vistas al mar. Buena comida. Buen servicio a muy buen precio. ¡¡ Hay sardinas!!
Hemos llegado ayer y estamos descubriendo Chipiona, hemos visto este bar y la verdad que todo muy rico sobre todo el arroz negro. Trato del personal muy correcto.
