La Cocina Economica - Chico

Went here to take a break from our long drive from Lassen to Sacramento, expecting good, authentic Mexican food. Very disappointing! Staff was dismissive, and not helpful. Menu is confusing. Chips were cold, overcooked, and unsalted. Salsa was very watery and bland. (Mind you, they charge $1.50 for about 12 chips). We got a Carne Asada Burrito and Grilled Fish Tacos. Very bland and nothing to write home about. Price is reasonable for the portion sizes. Fountain drinks were also horrible, very watered down. (Idk how that happens) If we lived in Chico, definitely would avoid this place.

I usually enjoy there food, I'm not sure if they have new kitchen staff or what but it's completely different then what it use to be. Bland and gross. I won't be coming back.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place, and it had been a while since I had been there. I got a chimichanga, and honestly was disappointed. I couldn’t taste any seasoning. The staff was nice, and service was ok. The food (based on what I had) was just not impressive.

Hands down best Authentic Fresh Mexican food in town. I had a try tip taco and a cheese enchilada and it was to die for.Not fancy at all. Located in a neighborhood so you’ll miss it if you don’t seek it out.
