Bidra med feedbackTwo years ago, when I moved to Chicago, I set a goal to find the best chocolate croissant in town. I have finally found it! Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted with the delicious scent of browning butter. The seating area has a cozy tea-room atmosphere with mismatched Victorian China and chairs. The chocolate croissant was perfectly crisp and flakey, while the dark chocolate ganache inside was soft and rich. I also enjoyed a hot cocoa that tasted like a full cup of melted chocolate. My partner tried the Lyon sandwich, which was excellent with cream cheese, salmon, and red onion on a croissant. We will definitely be returning! In terms of accessibility, there are no steps to enter from the sidewalk and the aisle is wide enough for wheelchair access. Any table can accommodate a wheelchair.
This restaurant is a hidden gem with a small menu but delicious food. Highly recommended.
I really enjoy that they offer mini pastries such as eclairs and tarts. My favorite was the sweet potato tart with meringue on top - it was delicious!
Best croissants I've had since going to France in the late 90's.
The croissants are something else. Very very special. I don't know if the person on the cashier was the owner or not but certainly the amount of care and hospitality she provided felt like she's highly vested in this place. It does matter a lot.Very very positive experience. Can't wait to go again!
