Bidra med feedbackI really wanted to like this restaurant, as it was recommended to me with high praise. The atmosphere was pleasant and I enjoyed the decor. The bartender was friendly. However, I found it strange that I was asked for four IDs when ordering four drinks at the bar with just one friend standing behind me. It felt like an odd policy. While I had arrived with a group of four, the staff had no way of knowing if my friend and I were both ordering drinks. It seemed like maybe they were understaffed and did not have a doorman. Despite this, we were ignored by the server for 45 minutes. I am giving this restaurant three stars, but I am leaning more towards 2.5. They offer reasonable prices and have a decent selection. Unfortunately, my friend and I felt out of place as we appeared to be the only Mexican customers at the bar that night. It was disappointing to feel unwelcome due to the waitress ignoring us.
This is the best dive bar in Chicago with a great selection of draft beers. They only accept cash and the food is delicious.
Skylark is a jewel. Neighbourhood joint that is very popular with all kinds of people, locals and tourists. They usually have a vegan special. I really live nearby, it would be one of my local diving bars anyway, but the fact that they are vegan sloppy joes every day and treat vegans like normal people who want to go in bars and eat is absolutely fantastic for Chicago.
Never would have expected such a classic Chicago Bar so extensive (and despicable! vegan options. The Thai curry was phenomenal and the fried pimple (without the diving sauce hit the place. All menu prices include tax, and even if they are not already excellent. I can't wait to come back.
Quirky, old, dark, Dingy, non-descript, Sketchy, Cool, are all the wonderful attributes that this place is as special as for several.
