Mortar & Pestle - Chicago

They seem to be out of business. It is now called Dong ne, a Korean snack house. We used to love it. Giving one star only because it no longer exists.

Loved it, but it closed at least a month ago. Signage says it is now a Korean Snack Bar.

Nice service, but seemed super busy and occupied. food took forever to come out I think they forgot about us and the food was cold when it came out). A bigger table that came later than us had their food come out faster and food steaming hot. We should have told the waiter to reheat our food. We got the foie gras and eggs and fried rice. Probably would been great if served hot.

Absolutely amazing food!!!!!! Smokey Quartz drink is delicious. Service was a 10!!!!! I don't think you can go wrong here. Wowza!

This is a really cute neighborhood restaurant. We stopped in here for Sunday brunch. Their cocktails are great. I specifically loved the breakfast old fashioned. Our server was very attentive. I had the King Crab Benedict and it was excellent. One of my friends ordered the burger, it looked legit! I think the only part I was slightly disappointed was the order of French toast. While the flavor was great. It was one single slice of toast. It is $17 for one single piece of French Toast…someone really needs to revisit the pricing on this. Overall, the food and drinks are great and we will be back.
