Bidra med feedbackThis is my second or third order of this place that I really want to love, but I can't pass the taste of the huh, it's really terrible. I ordered the teriyaki bowl and everything in the bowl was delicious and fresh. the huh has such a strong wing taste I am not sure whether it is not seasoned or what the deal is. the chicken in chipotle and other fast casual restaurants never tastes this bad quality. Actually, I couldn't even like more than my first bite. I try not to be hard, this is constructive feedback that the huh has to be changed/changed. I see several other customers had the same commentary. I would like to give this young regular business (I like the concept and would like to support the local people who run the business) but I don't think I will order from there again.
Tried twice within one week and had two very different experiences: On our first visit, we tried two orders of the sesame surprise, added fried egg. Both bowls were we flavored, tofu was soft fresh and flavorful, sesame dressing was rich and tasty. The portions were also pretty fair, and seemed just as filling as a Sweetgreen bowl. On our second visit, everything was a miss. We tried the sesame surprise again but this time, tofu was old dry, rice was undercooked. My husband tried the hot chicken bowl, which ended up being even worse chicken was clearly microwaved, breading was soggy, you could tell from the taste of it that the chicken had been refrigerated/reheated. Not fresh and pretty underwhelming. The gochujang sauce tasted more like chalula/tobasco was super watery, not remotely anything like Korean chili paste. Rice again undercooked. Pretty bummed bc our first visit was so much better, but goes to show that maybe consistency is an issue here. Or maybe just stick to the tofu and cross your fingers that you get a fresh batch. After this second visit, it's really a toss up if we'd try this place again, which is a bummer bc we really liked it the first time. Also a little bummed they don't have real beef bulgogi. I do appreciate their ability to adjust on the fly though no one picks up the phone here but they use a texting service if you need to make any changes to your order.
Ordered a BYO with chicken and broccoli and corn. Ended up tossing all the chicken because the pieces were gross and hard and chewy. The corn and broccoli tasted burnt. There was also avocado smeared around my bowl when I did not order avocado. The sauce was good. Also this location is a ghost kitchen and you can only pick up.
Ordered through Grubhub. Food was over two hours late, and we received part of someone else's order as well. Tried to call the restaurant five times, and the system hung up on me every time. Finally called Grubhub who informed me the driver waited at the restaurant for two hours, before our food was ready, and at least gave me a 50% refund on my order. Save your money and don't bother.
Me and my wife arrived to Chicago very late at night WAY past our dinner time and luckily they were still open for Uber eats. We ordered the spicy chicken bowls and everything was delicious and in HUGE portions, also to mention it’s much healthier than the other choices out there so with all of that in consideration, the price tag was worth it to me. If you’re looking for a healthier option and need to get full, moonbowls is worth getting.
