Bidra med feedbackWe choose this place because it has the look of a western saloon and had rocky mountain oysters. The reviews about the flies are true, even though they were not bad during our time there. The rocky mountain oysters were burned. They had the taste of bread that burned in the toaster. There are several places in Cheyenne that serve rocky mountain oysters that are also cheaper, so if that is what you are going here for highly recommend you try another place.
Really wanted to like this place. Maybe they're short staffed. No one seated us or acknowledged we were there. (6:15 on a Sat. night) Finally someone did. Margaritas had zero alcohol or flavor. Worse was the chili ... lukewarm, mushy and dry. Even the poor waitress thought it looked bad. And she was trying her best. Burger was okay but we've had alot better. Overall bad. Casino room redeemed it a little.
Was OK flies where crazy but it is on a ranch. Wasn't to impressed with the food. The fries where awesome! Though. Ribs to much bq sauce. Wanted to experience the buffilo flavor. Staff was friendly and great. Everyone was friendly and nice. The burger was awesome. Was huge.
Senators is a little tourist trap. The menu has a bison chili but everything else is out of the “chain restaurant” handbook. Mozzarella sticks, fish ‘n chips and chicken fingers are hardly representative of a Wyoming look and feel. There’s lots of flies. The restaurant has fly traps in the windows so you can enjoy a view of dead bugs while having lunch. The property is right off the highway and visible from I-25 but getting there means a two mile detour down the side road.Stop by, have a burger, show the kids the petting zoo on property then move on and keep going. You’ll be able to move faster because your wallet will be noticeably lighter.
I had higher expectations, honestly. I've lived in Cheyenne for 6 years now and have always heard about the Bison steaks, this is why we went there. The initial appearance was very saloon-like, which isn't bad. However, the dining area is among electronic slot machines. The waitress, was the highlight of the dining experience, she was talkative and complimentary and sported a cute 307 tattoo on the back of her calf muscle. She is the reason for the third star, otherwise this would be a two star rating. We ordered drinks and was a bit surprised at the pricing for steaks, Beef or Bison they were very high. A 10oz Bison Ribeye was $50, a beef ribeye was the same. The 8oz Sirloin was $35 and all the steaks are a-la-carte! Sides of fries, mashed potatoes, or vegetables cost extra. Our drinks arrived, a margarita and pale ale both served in tailgate Coors Light plastic cups, again disappointed and surprised. This place is nothing more than a low-end, high priced bar and grill, with a stage for live music and gambling. The food came and her $35 8oz Filet Mignon was cooked well and tasty as was my Bison Ribeye, but honestly King Soopers has better, thicker meat cuts. Presentation of the food was lame and the $136 check was probably $50 too much for what we got and was solicited on our way out to become a member of Wyoming Downs gambling casinos, as if we didn't already spend enough needlessly.I believe the bar we went to, Black Tooth Micro Brewery, afterwards with a food truck parked on the curb would have been a better dinner date for less than half the cost of a supposed landmark local restaurant as Senators.
