We tried the Himalaya tonight for the first time, we opted for home delivery. We ordered at 6pm and were given a delivery time between 6.55 and 7.15. The food was delivered at 6.50. It was piping hot. We ordered onion bhaji and samosa to start, we received 2 of each with 2 portions of salad and raita followed by a house special bbq chicken with mango sauce and a prawn dopiaza. The food was absolutely delicious, and we are sitting here stuffed! Well done, we will certainly be back.

I told my partner about this restaurant and he placed an order. I wish I hadn't bothered. The phone service was awkward and rushed. We waited so long that we ended up calling to confirm the order was still being prepared. A small order that was supposed to take a maximum of 45 minutes ended up taking 1 hour and 15 minutes. When the order finally arrived, it was missing the rice. After waiting an additional 20 minutes for the rice to be delivered (making the total wait time to eat 1 hour and 35 minutes), my partner decided to call and inform them that we no longer needed it as we had already eaten everything else due to our extreme hunger. The food was also lukewarm, although it likely would have been delicious if served hot. We did not complain for free food, my partner didn't even ask for a refund for the missing rice. I feel disappointed because I had recommended this place to my partner, and they really dropped the ball.

The food is of good quality and reasonably priced. This Indian restaurant in Chester-le-Street is currently my favorite.
