Atlantica Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, La Vista Restaurant

The restaurant is closed for the entire season due to staffing shortages. While there is food available off the resort, it is not convenient for our stay. However, there are nice restaurants to enjoy if you drive away from the resort.

The hotel is very loud. I’m on the basement level and the person walking around in the room above me on the hard wood floors with their shoes on is driving me nuts. They’ve been up making noise since 5am on a Saturday morning. The bathroom is incredibly dusty, which either makes me scared that the room isn’t cleaned thoroughly during covid or happy that it’s so dusty it means that no one has been in this room for a while. The ironing board is filthy. Ask to stay in a room on the top floor! I also couldn’t get to my room without dragging my bags up a flight of stairs! Ask for a room with direct elevator access. The fire tables on the balcony overlooking the water looks very inviting and I might go out and enjoy them tonight.

During our two-night stay, we encountered various examples of unfriendly staff, but the final straw was when a young bartender reprimanded us for being too loud at midnight. Despite there being only four of us and being far away from any other guests' rooms, we were asked to leave so they could close for the night. This accusation was baseless and insulting. We also met another couple during our stay who were also unhappy with the service. Despite our efforts to support the staff by purchasing meals and drinks for others, we were met with disrespect. Unfortunately, Oak Island Resort has disappointed us, and we will not be recommending it to others.

Last Saturday evening, my friend and I dined at the bar. The food was fantastic – I ordered the tuna tacos, while my friend had a lobster roll. The bar also featured live entertainment, and the music was excellent.

Have only eaten there, gorgeous dining room nice staff, food ok, room for improvement. Lounge cold in winter. Families seem to enjoy going there as the recently redone heated pool a big attraction. There are also chalets you can rent
