Gerrards - Cheshire West and Chester

I recently visited this bakery for the first time and I will definitely be coming back. My wife and I tried pastries, egg sandwiches, custard, and other cakes, and they were all delicious.

I really enjoy this bakery, but I am disappointed that the sausage rolls are always served cold. I understand that it may not be very busy at times, but during a recent cold snap when the temperature was -4 degrees, I was really looking forward to a hot sausage roll. Unfortunately, it wasn't even warm. I wish they would prioritize serving hot sausage rolls on such cold days or at least inform customers that they are cold. It was a letdown. When I choose to visit a British bakery and pay more for a sausage roll compared to other bakeries, I expect to receive a hot and fresh one, not one that has been sitting out for an hour. It shouldn't be that difficult to ensure quality in such a simple task.

Thought this place was lovely, great bakes and great value. You'd be a fool to seek out a chain like Greggs or the Pound Bakery given the gulf in quality of ingredients and historical knowledge of baking. The loafs looked fantastic but was a bit too late in the day to get one at this time, but will be back to buy one soon.

The bakers at this restaurant are of excellent quality. I noticed that they have recently raised their prices, but the quality of their products justifies the cost. It's best to visit in the morning to guarantee you can get an Eccles cake. I remember when they used to be £1 each, but now they are priced at £1.65. Despite the increase, I still bought 10 of them.

Had a lovely fresh hot buttered teacake and really good pot of tea here today! The staff are lovely and the toilets spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.
