Bidra med feedbackStayed here for the weekend and I have to say I was very disappointed. The bedding hadn't been ironed and was very very creased. This is not acceptable!! Was told that the room had been refurbished, the finish was appalling. Shower heads very clogged and need descaling and shower trap dirty and smelly. No dressing table to be able to sit and do hair and makeup. The bed however was comfortable.Had to make our own breakfast and wash up, a big no no for me, wouldn't go back. The positive was that the staff were lovely. Didn't see the owner again after check in.
Went here with family and friends for Sunday roast and we all enjoyed it, fantastic food with fantastic service well recommend this place worth a try if you haven’t already been
We arrived via the canal and a group with us who all have additional needs came for lunch. The food and service were divine. A few in the group felt alarmed initially at the prices however we were all very pleased with the food and great portion sizes. Admittedly I was concerned when I saw the Chips that came with my Halloumi Burger as I can be very fussy. They were the best chips I have had in a very long time. Food was tasty and warm. There really isn't anything negative to say. The lady who served us was very patient as we all paid our bills separately. Honestly the food was that good I would especially catch the train just to have it again.
How the mighty have fallen. 1. Does not take cash. Shocking!! 2. Rude staff. Do you want customers, or do you want your staff to be behind the bar on their phones and ignore customers. 3. Shocking hygiene. One moment a member of staff is cleaning the car park with no gloves on her hands. 2 minutes later, she's serving our food. I doubt she washed her hands. 4. Food. Obviously, cutting costs on food. A lovely looking salad was actually on top of a very dry flat bread, so it looked as if you had a good portion of salad err no. Lamb Kofta were dry and overcooked. Paprika chicken again dry. And for the price, the food was extremely disappointing. The garden area is looking extremely unkempt and uncarared for. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Congleton with friendly, attentive staff with good food. We sat outside with the flies and the wasps they all disappeared when our food was served. We won't be returning and will take our cash elsewhere. Where the server doesn't clean the carpark without gloves, then the server's your food.
Had dinner and drinks at a mates local pub on Saturday 5th and not for the first time the food (soup followed by chuck steak, mate had the Garlic Mushrooms followed by Spaghetti Bolognese) was excellent and filling, the staff were friendly and looked after us well. We also went in for drinks on the Friday Sunday too and again the staff were friendly and The Queens Pale Ale was crystal clear and spot on all 3 days we visited.
