Stumbled upon the pub whilst on a bike ride from Banbury. Received a warm welcome despite having a cumbersome bike with me sat in the garden in the sun with a pint of san miggers.
Daventry Ramblers enjoyed lunch here on Saturday . We were made most welcome . The food was excellent at very sensible prices in a good old fashioned English pub just superb . As an added bonus the walking in this area is outstanding .
My wife and I have driven past this pub a few times so we decided to give it a try at lunchtime. We were not disappointed. The decor inside the pub is welcoming both in the bar and the dining room. The staff are very...friendly and helpful and they make this pub. My wife had a salmon and cream cheese sandwich mine was the same in a baguette. The food was fresh and very tasty as were the side dish of chips. The brownie and ice cream for dessert is well worth trying. Having discovered this gem of a pub we will be definitely coming back to sample more of the menu soon. Would recommend it to anyone travelling in the area.
This is a lovely local pub with lots of character and different areas.. Warm snooks, separate sports bar, private bar, open air balconies. Its very quiet and very Cotswold quaint. We had a fabulous reunion there recently, and they were very very accommodating! Buffet food...was awesome. Highly recommended.
