La Satrouille - Cherbourg-en-Cotentin

When with a friend for lunch, for food and wine I really enjoyed here service were good prices were nice, I enjoyed the fresh food and wonderful options.

Cherbourg is a tourist city, but we were the only English dining in this restaurant today. If locals eat at a restaurant then it has got to pass muster in my book. It was a non pretentious place that served good honest food, seafood being...the speciality. A nice ambiance and good service. Would certainly revisit when over there again.

Very good fish restaurant directly at the harbour. Swift and friendly service. Definitely a place to return to.

This restaurant serves lovely fish dinners and is reasonably priced. The patron is very friendly and did some of his training in Worcester. The food was tasty and good quality

We celebrated our birthday and were so happy that we chose La Satrouille. Certainly not the cheapest restaurant in Cherbourg, but it is probably the best sure of all we have tried. Service is fast and there is a good selection of wines and...Leffe is on tap. My lobster was perfectly cooked and served with a delicious butter sauce. My wife had the Coquilles, again perfectly cooked. The beginning of the sardine fillets was also surprising. As it says outside, everything is very fresh. We were told by local diners the next table that Chef Michel Briens can be found, the local markets to the best ingredients he lovingly prepared in his open kitchen. After the service, he talked to us all for a while when we watched L'Hermione arrive in the quay outside for the upcoming Normandy75 memorial celebrations. Really unforgettable food.
