Bidra med feedbackWhat a fantastic lunch. Definitely a restaurant you need to go to. It's a bit difficult to find but worthwhile. The entrance doesn't look like much but wait, you will have a great meal. The snails were outstanding as were the other appetizers, the pasta delicious the foie gras amazingly good. Definitely worth eating here.
Restaurant decoration make feeling like at home. Simple and warm. From 20 years that I have try different restaurants in this zone during my bussines trips but that was first time that I was impressed from style in cooking and from t a different menü . In this region especially fish specialities you can not find evrywhere and same plates like vitello tonato are present in all menus of restaurants. Here owners have create a simple menu adding different dishes cocked in their traditional style. I will especially recomend to taste Degustazione di crudo con Scampi e Gamberi and Scallopa di foi gras con mele caramellate . This last is very different style from traditional foi gras becouse is prepared from a piece of a complete goose liver and not pasted like traditional foi gras in a bed of caramelised apples. Prices was normal.
As a group of 23 Scots we take some looking after and the owners did a great job. Food was exceptional and wine even better. Our wine was a Barbera D'Alba from Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa, one of if not the best we have tasted on our trip. We only new of this restaurant because one of the party was a cousin of the owners, a real gem to be found for those who make the effort. We met the chef at the end of the meal, what a lovely guy and the owners did all they could to make our afternoon special. If we ever come back to this area, we will make an effort to return. This is a nice restaurant. Food is very good. Good service as well in a perfect environment with nice atmosphere.
