The Clarence Social - Cheltenham

Food excellent the combination of flavours different and tasty, attentive waiters, the only thing stopping me giving a 5 star revue was the noise level. Early evening fine but the later it got the louder it got until it was difficult to hold a conversation without shouting. Our party was sat at the front of the mezzanine level overlooking the bar so got the full blast from the increasingly busy and raucous crowd.

Brilliant place to go for a few cocktails! Relaxed ambiance!

This was supposed to be a special celebration. My main course smoked sea trout )was burnt when it first arrived. Sent it back only to receive a second over cooked, dry inedible fish. We couldn't eat it but were still charged and no alternative offered. Ordered the house white only to find out afterwards is was £30 a bottle. Would have been helpful to be told this when ordering as the wines started at £21 so was expecting the same. Toilets were unisex and the floors all soaking wet.

Wasn’t told they had a limited menu on. When we arrived even the limited menu was mostly unavailable. Service was poor from start to finish. People in the restaurant and bar not wearing mask including staff. And several tables were more than 6 with the COVID restrictions I will never go back to this place.

One of my favourite venues in Cheltenham. Great drinks, food, music, and service!
