Bidra med feedbackYesterday evening, my family and I went to the Blue Lion to celebrate my Mother's birthday. The eight of us received excellent service and delicious food. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to visit the Blue Lion again the next time we are in Essex.
Ben and Carina have done a fantastic job of transforming this pub from its previous reputation to a top-notch establishment. The food is incredible, with careful attention to detail, and the staff are fabulous. You can always expect a warm welcome and friendly smile. I highly recommend this place. If you haven't been yet, it's definitely worth a visit!
I have been pleased with the recent changes at the Blue Lion restaurant over the years. The service is professional, friendly, and polite. The menu offers post-COVID, straightforward options that are top quality and expertly presented. The bar has a great selection of drinks. I commend the new management and team for a job well done. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went to the bar and asked for a drink and the door staff came up asked us to leave. The barman said he did not understand why we were being asked to leave. We asked the doormen why we were being asked to leave...and he said we’d had enough… we had not have any alcohol. I was dressed in shorts and long socks so appreciate that’s not your usual attire but did not expect to be kicked out because of it. We went back and sat in the garden to ask for a drink, the waitress came up and said she was not serving us as per the doorman’s instructions. I asked her for a reason and she said we’d already been told. Honestly, I’ve never felt so humiliated in my life. It was enlightening to experience this kind of discrimination. You should be ashamed of yourselves and I hope all you customers are aware of how completely disgusting your staff are. Will be writing to your the local council.
