Hwaro Hyang - Cheju

Stopped by here looking for Black Jeju Pork Korean BBQ for a solo diner. As previous reviews mentioned, they do have a menu for single servings and will seat a single diner. I went early in the evening- around 5 pm, so was the only person there and was still the only person at around 6 pm on a weeknight. Got the pork belly and fried rice. Lady set everything up and cooked everything, and showed me how to make a ssam (lettuce roll). Also named all of the various side dishes and condiments. I don’t think she spoke much English, but had enough. Food was good. Not sure if the black pork was really better, but it all tasted good. Left completely stuffed. Parking: Found a parking garage about a 3 minute walk away. Otherwise, no street parking apparent. I visited for the first time in February. This store just happened to be open. However, I came across a very wonderful shop. It is a shop run by a couple, but the wife bakes everything, so she recommends it at the most delicious timing. I liked it so much that I returned in April. Any meat you choose is delicious, but shoulder loin and tomahawk are the best. I would like to ask you again next time I go to Jeju Island. Thank you for the meal. Good to have some staff speaking mandarin but the meat was too hard and dry. didnt had a good time there at all.
