The Village House - Chauk

The Village House is a true gem in Burma. Naing Lin, made us feel very welcome and truly cares about being a wonderful host, and the freshness and flavour of the food was wonderful. The attention to detail in the venue was wonderful, all the greenery and the care on the plants and garden was beautiful to see. It was a true oasis, in a long day of scooter driving and temple spotting. A true gem and one of my fondest memories of Myanmar.

My best gastronomic experience in Myanmar! And it happened to be one of the cheapest ones as well. At a lovely setting with views of pagodas, beautiful at sun light during the day and gorgeous when illuminated at night. The food was fenomenal. If I could I would hire the chef to be my private cook home in New York. The owner is a travel guide and he speaks fantastic English, had I known I would had booked him to be my guide. Most of local guides have basic English.

Best restaurant we had in the whole Bagan area during the week. The food was way better than the busy restaurants in NyaungU, although a bit further away from the city, this is the place to go if you have a chance to stop by this small village. The atmosphere is wonderful. Food, view, quiet place, superb service in the place all contributes to a 5 star restaurant. Definitely worth coming again and again.

Nice view with nice lunch. Tomato salad was nice with nuts topping. And deep fried vegetable looks fried with clean oil. Many place old black oil but this place was good. And variety kind of vege. Thanks for ur place

You will get stunning temple view dinning here, anyone who wants to eat at a peace, quiet, romantic dinner then this is for you. It is being a family run business it will take a little long for your food waiting time but the taste is great (worth waiting indeed).
