Big Ben Pub - Charlotte

Despite the confirmation of Open Table from a reservation made in advance at the time of arrival in the restaurant, we were informed that the restaurant did not participate in Open Table. We had to make other agreements for a proper party last minute.

We went to the fish dinner. Everyone was nice and helpful. The food was good. We asked about fish and fries extra crispy, but didn't get them that way. It was still a good meal

We had a reservation of 7:00. Armed at the time, but waited about 10 minutes for Hostess stand, which was unattended. Several other parties waited and no one came by. Sometime another person was looking for the manager and he came by. He said it would wait 30 minutes, even with a reservation. I asked if I had to cancel the reservation, but he said he would. We went to find another option. But I couldn't book a reservation somewhere else because it said I ate here! Very frustrating experience. It was a bummer because my husband and I always like to go here. This was our date night and it didn't start well. There was no apology at all about the topic with the reservations waiting for everyone. Luckily we found another place to have dinner.

Food was GREAT! Service was horrible. They showed my reservation was canceled, when Open Table showed booked. Same happened with the party next to us. 1 server for entire bar area. My food came out after everyone else already finished. Didn’t check on us ever. Such a shame as the food was delicious.

No fault to the bartender but she had to wait on the bar and the tables in the bar area. She did a good job at handling the Friday night busy dinner volume.b I went up to the bar to order our drinks as well as others dining. In all, glad to visit and will come back. Great vibe and like the new location.
