Bidra med feedbackHad very high expectations for this restaurant. Came out at room temperature, not what was described on the menu, sent back and came back to chewy and not good and still not what was described on the menu.. On the way home now to eat dinner. Asked if the manager was aware of all of this and told yes but not sure why she didn’t care enough to come say anything. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone even on special nights. Really stinks because this is the closest restaurant to us but will NOT be back.
Have eaten here several times and quality has declined. Food is lacking, tastes bad and pricey. Salads were large portions now much smaller served on a plate. Sometimes overloaded with olives and the next overloaded with cheese and scant on other items. Service is friendly, but very slow. Slow drink refills. Run out of Iced Tea. Owner doesn't acknowledge any issues and avoids responding to any complaints about food quality or food handling issues.
Just visited DW Lakeside for the first time and it definitely will be a new favorite. Mussels appetizer was better than I've had in Charleston. Served with plenty of black kalamata olives and warm bread. Fish bites were not too breaded. High praise for the chef. Our server, Grant, was attentive. Quick service. Great location on Lake Murray clubhouse. One encouraging note...they were out of several condiments, but the tasty food made up for it. Reasonably priced drinks. My only disappointment was that children and guests at the bar did not wear masks nor did they wear masks when transitioning from bar to dining room. Otherwise, a most wonderful experience
I am very skeptical (picky) when it comes to ordering seafood, but with a recommendation from a respected connoisseur, I ventured out and ordered the swordfish... it was Ah-Maze-zing! (I meant to get a picture, but had already devoured half of my plate by the time it dawned on me). Definitely my new fave and look forward to it again!
They closed the old dw's on Dreher falls rd, and didn't post a sign or tell anyone. The old restaurant was flagging. The new restaurant which too over the site of Purple Martin(another failed restaurant) at Timberlake golf course. I guess a bunch of old retired guys will eat anything if there is a mbar just off the veranda. the French dip sandwiches were rather poor and there were no sides or soups, just chips. To get seated, you just go to the bar and search for help. It was a 45 minute ride and not worth it except that the day was beautiful. Driving from the lake to a McDonald's would have been better. I brought half the sandwich home and my dog turned his nos up and away from it.
