Carolina 1663 - Chapel Hill

We recently visited Carolina 1663 for the first time and had an interesting experience. We initially made a reservation as other restaurants were fully booked due to college graduations and Mother's Day. When we arrived at around 5:30 pm, we were the only customers in the restaurant. Most of the tables were set up for larger groups, possibly because it is located in the Sheraton Hotel. Despite being the only customers, we were seated at a table near the kitchen doors. We requested to move, but were informed that the other tables were reserved. Ultimately, we decided to sit at the bar, where we were the only customers aside from a brief moment when another individual was present. The bartender served as our waiter and provided good service. The food exceeded our expectations, although it was a bit pricey. Overall, we enjoyed a quiet meal in a nearly empty restaurant. While we are unsure if this experience will be the norm, we anticipate that the restaurant will not be crowded and the food will be of good quality.

Enjoyed our evening at 1663. Notice the manager does not work as hard as the staff. Hope tips are not shred with management.

Great food steak perfectly boiled, and the collar and Mac n cheese was on place. And the Manhattan was perfect!

It would have been nice to have more choices from the lunch menu. that was great.

Restaurant has housed us for brunch (14 people) at the end of the week and even furnished us in a private room. the breakfast buffet was very good variety and quality were excellent. service was attentive and we all really enjoyed the experience. in any case recommend.
