The food is excellent and there’s a big selection of food to choose from. The service was great and the staff was wonderful. The atmosphere was also chill and very well themed. It’s the best place to get sushi!

Not many sushi options in Chalmette and in the Yelp review of the other one, someone wrote that they found a hair in their edamame so that made narrowing the choice down pretty easy. Nice place. The girl behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I noticed that they had two interesting choices on the menu a PoBoy Roll and Sushi Nachos (WHAT?! . She said the PoBoy Roll is fried and tastes just like a PoBoy and the Sushi Nacho an appetizer with dipping sauces and such. It was a really long day and I wasn't feeling adventurous so I went with a tried and true. I ordered a Philadelphia Roll. It was delish. Hit the spot. Very fresh. Should be noted that no alcohol is served here and it's a Pepsi place. I could have used that drink but Bonzai Sushi Express is well above average, especially for an express sushi place. If you're in Chalmette and are craving some sushi, it's your best bet but if you want a little hair in your edamame, the other place is down the street.

This place is horrible. We ordered basic sushi rolls and the rice was old. The rolls were literally falling apart because the rice was so hard. Restaurant was not clean and the service sucked. Want real sushi? Try Asuka Sushi or Tsunami in New Orleans.
