La Gambille - Cers

Great food and staff. The menu has a good choice and what we both ate was nice. The restaurant is located next to the canal so very comfortable when you are in a boat holiday. I recommend you stop and eat here!

After a hectic morning shopping we decided to call in here for lunch. Three adults and three children. We adults opted for the Gambas with rice and vegetables. This was 5 tasty giant prawns skewerd and cooked well. The rice was nice too. The children...opted for the kids meal of beef and chips. Two of us had a pudding and we all had one drink. The cost was 98 Euros. Not particularly cheap, but I guess it is the price you pay for fresh cooked food by the canal du midi. The drawback was the flies that were attracted while we ate our meal. A bit off putting but we are in the countryside. Our grandchildren soon solved this problem by moving to the outside tables. No flies on them... Afterwards we played a few ends of Pétanque on the terrain next to the restaurante. They even lend you the boules.

We visited La Gambille three times during our holiday. Once just for beers and ice cream (which is lovely) after a long bike ride along the Canal du Midi, and twice for lunch. Would recommend the local fish, my daughter loved the kids fish meal,...my husband raved about a local chicken dish which was the special, and I can't recommend enough the tomato and mozzarella salad. Great atmosphere, but service can take a little time.......you need to not be in a rush! And as you are directly on the river you need to be ready for flies being attracted to your food. Recommend booking at the weekend.

J'ai eu l'occasion de manger à la gambille deux fois cet été, les plats sont très bons,les escargots de mer très frais, petit bémol sur la cuisson de la viande ou du thon trop cuit. Le cadre est très sympa.premier petit bémol, les tarifs un peu élevés mais la qualité étant au rendez vous on accepte.deuxiéme énorme bémol, le service, calamiteux!!!!, première fois on a attendu demi heure avant d'être servi, la serveuse avait oublié de passer la commande, il y a 3 jours on nous a servi la moitié des entrées de la table, quasiment dans la foulée on a eu les plats principaux sans avoir eu les entrées, il a fallu insister pour commander le vin et l'eau. Justificatif de la serveuse:" je suis dans le jus" un peu limite, dommage

Un style guinguette (champêtre)sur les bords du canal du midi avec un personnel accueillant et souriant.Les plats sont bien servi et appétissant, que ce soit la viande ou le poissonÀ recommander pour ceux qui veulent passer un bon moment
