Tokyo Buffet - Cerritos

I’ve been waiting for a long time for Tokyo Buffet to open. Was it worth the wait? To be honest, not really. I say not really for a couple of reasons. They don’t offer self serve frozen yogurt/ice cream that most buffet joints offer. They might offer it now, but at the time I went, the desert selection did not include frozen yogurt/ice cream. Kind of a bummer if you prefer yogurt over pastries. Their lunch prices are okay, but higher than that of Hibachi Buffet in Norwalk. They even offer age adjusted pricing for little ones, starting at 80 cents for three year olds. If your party consists mainly of adults, go to Hibachi. If your party consists mainly of little kids under 10, go to Tokyo Buffet. Their food selection is miniscule in comparison to what’s offered at Hibachi Buffet. However, the food at Tokyo Buffet seems to be of higher quality than that at Hibachi. Plus, the sushi at Tokyo Buffet is more to my liking. It’s clean and spacious. (You’d expect this buffet place to be clean anyway as it is brand new. The good thing about Tokyo Buffet is how they don’t leave all of their food out. They refill as necessary and I think that’s good although some people may not like that. I find it good because the food that you’re eating is more likely to be fresh and less contaminated with germs. The con to their approach of refilling food as necessary is buffet eaters won’t be able to “hog” their favorite food item onto their plate for themselves/their party. I probably need to go to this buffet again to give you more insight, however it’s a pretty good buffet if you’re looking for an all you can eat Asian place by the Cerritos Mall. There’s more than enough parking available here however if this buffet were to ever get busy, I could imagine someone parking within the vicinity of the buffet but having to walk a tad bit to enter the restaurant. For the price conscientious, their lunch buffets are from 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mondays to Fridays at $8.99. Their dinner buffets are $13.99 on weekdays and a dollar more on weekends and holidays. Seniors over the age of 65 get 10% off. For those that despise buffets because they don’t like eating in crowded places, Tokyo Buffet might be a good buffet for you to go to. I say might because I went near the end of their lunch time (around 3:30 PM and it wasn’t crowded whatsoever even though they had just opened. They may have been crowded prior to me arriving to their buffet though. If you want to eat buffet style and you want some peace of mind, Tokyo Buffet might be the right place for you to dine at. Note: I originally wanted to give Tokyo Buffet a rating of three stars, however I decided on giving them an additional star for offering food that seemed to be more fresh and better quality than at other buffets, as well as for the fact that it wasn’t a crowded buffet place.

Your selection of foods is Miniskule compared to what is offered at Hibachi Buffet. The food at Tokyo Buffet seems to be of higher quality than at Hibachi. I might say because I went at the end of her lunchtime (about 3:30 a.m. and it wasn't crowded even though they had just opened. You might be overcrowded before I came to her buffet. If you want to eat buffet style and you want some rest, Tokyo Buffet could be the right place for you to dinate.
