Bidra med feedbackYet another enjoyable evening at this small resto. Le Patron is chef and front of house manager, so not a place if you are in a hurry. He always offers a choice of excellent plats. Do not expect a set menu nor a starter, but a well cooked and nicely presented main meal and maybe a pud after. The house wine is pretty good too.Justifiably popular with local people.
We visited this restaurant last night and found the steak inedible and the response from the owner was very bad and then didn't want anything to do with us. One of our party ordered veal and received liver instead. We quietly paid the bill and left NEVER AGAIN!!!
We ate here the other night after being recommend 8 of us if you are tired of main courses that look like starters then this is the place to put the joy back into mealtime big juicy steaks big chips and salad perfect we all loved it and cannot wait to go back. Stef fantastic host explaining menu all done on the grill all cooked to perfection, wine really good as well if you want no fuss but really good home cooked food then this is the place you will not go home hungry.
Magret, pomme frites, vin rouges. Best meal in Ceret by several country miles. Heartily recommended. **** off Trip Advisor
To give a bit of context, my wife and I live in Ceret year round so we've tried almost all the restaurants in town.Every time you walk past chez stef's it's always busy. People are always laughing and having fun. The reason for this is Stef himself. The man makes you feel welcome, he's the true heart and soul of this place. The food itself is decent. This is a meat lover's venue. If you like steaks then Stef has a nice big selection of different cuts. The meat is good and the chips and other accompaniments are good but it's not haute cuisine. It's simple and honest fare. The truth is that the food is almost secondary to the overall experience to be had when dining with Stef. It's more like a meal with at a friend's place. Why do we eat out? To make us happy of course! There's a reason why this place is always packed. Good food - an even better welcome. Don't be put off by the bizarre plastic dining room decor of the place. It's worth a visit.
