Pastaio Pasta Carnaby

Not being from London, we was looking for a restaurant that was in a central location and was able to offer one of my fussy friends a fair choice of food to choose from ... Pastaio was chosen and they more than delivered! My friends and I had a fabulous time here celebrating I hate to say it my 40th birthday. The restaurant has a lively, cozy atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive he noticed my birthday badge that I reluctantly was made to wear and tried to hide under my hair, he later had arranged for a complimentary tiramisu complete with candle to be presented in front of me. I did quiz my friends if this was prearranged but they had said no. On to the food... fab-u-lous!!! EVERYTHING was super tasty, seasoned to perfection. We had some anti pasti to share, Focaccia, Squash copanata, Burrata, chickpea with octopus. Mains we had the Slow roasted tomato pasta, Clam linguine and the Whole lobster linguini for 2. Plus desserts too. And wine lots of wine. Whilst chatting after the meal they also compd us some lemoncello each too totally unexpected. Thanks Pastaio, I'll be recommending and will also be sure to come back!

We stopped at Pastaio for a quick lunch, and after waiting 10 minutes for a table, we were seated. The food was nice as was the waitress but the portions are quite small. We paid £13 for each pasta dish but weren’t left feeling very full afterwards. The flavour itself is nice but nothing amazing overall a decent lunch.

I've been around in a lot of Italian restaurants but this is by far the worst in terms of quality- price. 1 we had a reservation but we had to wait for one table to be available... 2 no one smile or asked us if everything was okay they just tried to avoid costumers, they were absolutely unhappy to serve us: unpleasant. Obviously they made pay us 12.50% service charge... 3 the amount of food is not enough, you won't feel full after a dish of pasta!! .the portions are small but well spread on the plate.. (dishonest 4 the quality of the food is not fresh!!!! The pasta wasn't fresh !!!!!! This area though is beautiful and full of nice places to eat for less with a better quality.

Modern place in a fun area. The slushies are a nice treat and food is good. Honestly our favorite picks were the facaccio and burrata. The pasta options were good and we really loved their pesto sauce. Prices are a bit high, but service was great and we felt like they took great care of our group. We'd definitely go again and do recommend it if you're looking for pasta in this specific area.

Came for my best friend's birthday meal. Lovely place with lovely staff! The food was absolutely gorgeous, we took ages to decide what to get but eventually settled on the courgette dish and sausage ragu, with focaccia to start and a tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious! I am also grateful to staff for being accommodating when I asked if they could add a candle to the dessert for my friend's birthday. Will definitely like to come back and try the lobster linguine!
