La Guinguette - Cénac-et-Saint-Julien

Visited this riverside snack restaurant many times when canoeing. Great setting was always good food at fair prices. However, it has now shrunk its menu to 4 or 5 mains raised the prices to those of a good quality restaurant, but the food does not live up to these prices. Considering the volume of families canoeing past it is surprising that the owners have scrapped pizzas family favourites removed the kids play area) in favour of a small, expensive menu that will not appeal to this obvious customer base. Add to that the single toilet which has a constant queue is more akin to a low quality campsite than a restaurant serving €24 steaks. Next time we’ll probably use one of the numerous snack bars along the river instead.

Amazing food, amazing service and amazing setting. Moules fries and gourmand burger were both to die for. All the staff were extremely friendly, their good english and our bad French aloud us to get by perfectly. The house rose was also delicious. The setting is right by the river and amazing views! Highly recommend!!

Only stopped for drinks while kayaking along the Dordogne. Ordered a 50cl lager as listed on the menu at 5.5€. Was then charged 7.8€ for a Meteor beer without being asked. Not even up to the 50cl mark on the glass, served with a snarl and as for the beer, as flavoursome as a flat Coors Light...

Canoe release this day, 25km family journey (2 adults and 2 children in 2 canoes) A superb walk through the water on the Dordogne with magnificent views of Montfort, Domme, la Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud-la-chapelle, Beynac and Cezenac. All this is superbly done we spent a pleasant day, 4:30 a.m. paddling and a lunch break in front of the Roque-Gageac and its Gabares. Arrived at 4 p.m. for a return initially reserved at 5 p.m., but we were able to take the shuttle from 4 p.m. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. On the return we took an ice cream at the guinguette and there also the welcome was nice and pleasant, and very reasonable price. I recommend this company that we also chose mainly for its ecological commitments. I strongly recommend the experience this activity was very pleasant.

Very nice team! The welcome lady was great (a bit stressful the 'interrogation at the end to check if we listened to everything! I'm obviously joking; We made the route of the castles and loved it. A nice and relaxing course (yes at the beginning you say that you could finally take the 25 km course but I assure you that at 3/4 of the course you say that finally no... 13 km is good :D Anyway, thank you! We are delighted that our lodging has advised us this very nice business. To the pleasure and who knows, to the next 25 km vacation? ;
