Red's Public House - Cedar Rapids

Barrel House in downtown Cedar Rapids provided excellent service for us! Despite being busy and short-staffed, the employees were hustling and working hard to minimize our wait times. Nicole was particularly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and they even comped our appetizer because of the long wait. The general manager went out of their way to ensure we had a positive experience. The exceptional staff really made a difference, and we will definitely be returning. We highly recommend this place for its food, drinks, atmosphere, and service.

Any reasonable human could not leave this establishment anything less than 4 stars. The staff at Barrel House are incredibly accommodating even in the busiest of times. Shawn, the manager, knows his stuff and is nothing if not personable! Beyond the service, the food is astounding. Plenty of options to choose from, and I doubt you could choose wrong. Atmosphere is pleasant, music choice is great, TVs have something for everyone. Lastly, I get the feeling thatevery person working here is a delight to converse with. Unique characters and genuine personalities.

I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant recently! Our waitress, Candice, was outstanding. I ordered the Cajun Jack Chicken Sandwich and it was huge and delicious. The food arrived quickly, was of high quality, and was reasonably priced. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for a casual meal and a catch-up with a friend. I will definitely return and highly recommend this place.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The service at this restaurant was horrible and the staff had zero continuity. The first server rushed us to order without any customer service skills and didn't write anything down. He then passed us off to another server, who had to completely retake our order. It took three tries to get our order correct. The chicken breast had gristle and the lettuce was soft and disgusting. There was also a dressing on my salad that was not ordered. The only reason we would consider coming back is because the GM gave us a gift card. The experience was so bad that we, usually kind teachers, were incredibly disappointed with our first visit. A $16 disgusting salad and terrible service - no thank you.

Great location atmosphere! Inside is a warm and industrial feeling, a great place for a friend night or a date with the significant other. Many local beers on tap. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich which had swiss cheese, pesto pickled cucumber and onion..of course side dish was the sweet potato waffle fries and marshmallow sauce. Yum! The sandwich overall was very good, could take away a little of the pesto as it became a little soggy. However the fries were on????. The waitress was phenomenal...we had talked about her being only 38 days away from delivering and she walked around the place like she owned it, very impressed with her personality and customer service. Oh and food gets brought out ona little robot!!! Highly recommend!
