Bidra med feedbackWhere to begin. The neighborhood store that I and many others once enjoyed shopping is a thing of the past. The employees are rude and don't offer anything service only a dis-service. The employees who work the deli department need to learn how to speak to customers. They are rude and obnoxious. This only stems from management. They get away with being rude, unprofessional un knowledgeable and more. The prepared food is gross. Whoever is the head chef or cook they need to learn how to cook. The food use to be delicious and now it's inedible and disgusting. My daughter went there and spoke to the chef and she said he was so full of himself as if he's Top Chef. He's outdated, confused and clueless. The whole department deli and prepared food should be fired and start fresh. Get real people that care, know food, know how to cook and how to speak to customers. They are all rude, full of themselves and need a kick in the rear. Or you train them how to boil water first and then with the basics... of cooking. I'm so disappointed that I had to stop shopping here and go somewhere else. I'm not the only one. There are many people who feel the same way. They will not be operational and no more if this continues. People are done with bad service, bad management bad product. Wake up and get your head out of your . I blame management. Dave is clueless... never calls customers back... it's your job Your too good to talk to customers... no wonder staff acts as they do. Look at the head and it trickles down to employees. I'm done with this sh/t show
We have been shopping for groceries over 22 years at this Cedar Grove location. The dynamics have changed dramatically since it changed from Nicholas Foodtown to Fresh Grocer. Specifically, I have witnessed some seafood and deli staff grumpy and unpleasant and snapping at customers unprovoked on more than one occasion. Personally, I try to roll with the punches myself and always ask how they are doing with a smile and not just say I need I want.... The staff does not have an easy job and it can be stressful at times. But that does not warrant lashing out at any customer. My wife returned several times saying wow the people at the deli are so rude and Sheryl in seafood is so moody. Sometimes she says hi sweetly what can I get you but today she got so upset because I changed my mind and asked for two lobsters instead of one . Sheryl got angry and said well I took one lobster out already can 't you make up your mind before you tell me? Then an older man with white hair in the deli department got upset when my wife asked him to please trim the prosciutto. He said I always do. Anything else you want to tell me so I know how to do my job? Wow! When I came in to the store today I told the customer services I wanted to speak to the manager. She said Dave might have left for the day but asked if she could help me. The moment I told her I wanted to speak to him about rude staff she asked Deli Department? I said yes. I asked how did you know? She replied, my mom was here yesterday and said the same thing about the deli staff. She then told me Dave the manager does not call customers back and that I 'd have to come back another time when he 's there. Usually in the morning Not a good policy for a local store to have Also, although most food products are good quality, we have seen a significant increase in returns. We have had to return steamers, whole chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes and fresh basil to name but a few, because they were not fresh and smelled bad or died the following day. That never happened to us when it was a Foodtown operation. It may be advisable to have department meetings and for management to figure out what 's biting at some staff members. Sadly, my wife doesn 't feel comfortable going into this neighborhood grocery store any longer and has opted to go further away and shop elsewhere to avoid supporting this store that has forgotten that it is the local community that supports it and it 's staff. Please address this matter directly since your policy is not to return customer calls. Based on the number of negative responses on this thread it 's about time to address it We 'd like to come back once it changes.
I'm so impressed with how much the bakery department has change, the cakes look amazing and tastes are awesome! The service is excellent!!! I recommend this store and bakery!
I don 't know where they find these kids to work. More concerned with scrolling in their phones than helping people OR actually working. I asked a cashier why does so many look bored and so unapproachable. He responds because most are bored and management and owner suck which my reply than find another job many retail jobs available. Of course could not answer that I say to manager/owners of Green Grocers get it together already I 'm tired of the grumpy and just rude employees. Possibly change the way you treat them might make a huge difference
Yesterday, I went to Fresh Grocer grocery store on Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove. While I was bagging my groceries and waiting to pay for them, a white older man bumped his shopping cart into me. I requested that he give me space. I still needed to pay for my groceries and finish bagging them. He proceeded to tell me to shut up and get out of here. I asked the cashier to call the manager. The manager finally arrived (his name is Dave Secor). He claimed he was not a lawyer or a judge and to call the police. By this time, the man had left the store. I called the police. The Cedar Grove PD arrived and I filed a report. My husband also called The Fresh Grocer. He found it unacceptable and concerning that the manager of the store could not speak to this customer while the customer was onsite. We find it cowardly and disgusting that Secor could not invoke any store policy in which a customer who tells another customer to shut up and get out of here would not be reprimanded. I will share that several years ago, I was (apparently) in the way of an employee while I was shopping in the produce section of this store. He yelled at me because I was in his way. I reported him to management, also. Customers have the right to shop and pay for the groceries in an environment without getting yelled at by Old Racists.
