Bidra med feedbackI had the apple jelly with speck grilled cheese and tomoto suppe. To be honest, it was the best grilled cheese I ever tasted. I love the sweet and salty combination. the suppe was very good and reminded me to be a child. service was better than. I've started since covid. I think the woman smiled behind her mask I appreciated. I will definitely go back if I need to fix a grill cheese!
We both ordered the macaroni. I ordered the macaroni because I had seen reviews that it was really good, but it turned out to be overcooked, mushy, and tasteless. It was disappointing, but luckily I had ordered something else as well because I had a hard time finishing it. It was like a bowl of disappointment.
I really enjoyed the BBQ pork cheese at this restaurant! It's a fantastic spot for a fast lunch. They even offer raspberry cordial.
I am from Vancouver, British Columbia where we have great restaurants and some good food trucks. When I saw that PEI had a grilled cheese food truck, I was very excited to try it. Upon entering, I found a clean and warm atmosphere with plenty of seating options and local advertising for PEI products. I originally ordered the tomato and basil sandwich that was listed as number one on the menu board, but was informed that they did not have basil. My companion and I ended up ordering the two most popular sandwiches instead. We tried the smoked pork sauce with speck and apple on white bread, along with a side of mac and cheese with smoked brisket (which was not included in the price). We also ordered a local chocolate milk. The meat in the sandwich was tender and had a good smoky flavor, with a generous portion in each sandwich. The sandwich came with award-winning white cheddar on white bread, which we found to be dry and bland. We felt it would have been better grilled with butter or mayonnaise for a crispy, buttery exterior. The sandwich also came with kettle chips, though I received mostly small and crushed pieces from the bottom of the bag. The bacon and apple compote added a sweet element to the sandwich that complemented the cheddar and speck. We also found the mac and cheese to be creamy and satisfying, though we thought it could use a different type of cheese besides cheddar, like pepper jack or gouda. Overall, if the grilled cheese food truck wants to stand out among local eateries, they may need to elevate their menu with options like sourdough or rye bread and different cheeses for added flavor.
You can't really go wrong with grilled cheese, but this was just so-so. The kids were excited to have their pick of exciting new toppings, but both ended up going with the mini kids meal, which we all felt was an extra-small portion (half a...sandwich and a very small dish of mac n cheese). The adult portions weren't much bigger. The cheese is great, don't get me wrong, but for the price hype we expected more. Still, a decent stop on a busy touring day that satisfied everyone.
