Bidra med feedbackWe booked in advance and specifically asked if we could bring our dog. We were told that we could. When we arrived the owner was extremely rude and told us that dogs were not allowed. We asked if we could eat outside (there were plenty of tables) she said there was no outside service, We left without eating. This is not a dog friendly restaurant and they don’t seem to be very customer friendly either!
Love The Fruitiere. Simple for a beer and treat. The tarte Myrtille is amazing!! The opening hours are typically French generally nothing but sweet after 14.00. The setting is amazing and the drive up is wonderful.
We wanted to stay overnight after a long walk from Refugé Bayselance. After a group right in front of us cancelled their booking, we have been sent away with just a sorry you have to walk on . This is just unacceptable. We weren 't even asked if we 'd like to have a meal.
This little place, that we visited on a sunny July noon, was one very good surprise near Cauterets. It's not trendy, it's got a view on the mountains in the distance you can only like, and most of all, the simple menu and wine list are providing fresh or typical basque country style food which will soothe you for good. Wine is ok, but surprisingly fitting, and what made my day was the unusual tasting of genepi (hard liquor) made by the lady who runs the place, and both are very heart-warming. Go, don't miss this little happy place.
We found La Fruitière to be a perfectly judged restaurant. The style is low key, but the food absolutely fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Unprompted, they even brought out a small taster of an unknown menu item to make sure we would be happy with our choice. And happy we were, all the dishes we chose were delicious. Booking definitely required in high season, and I do urge you to book. We loved the place.
