Bidra med feedbackMy family of 4 who are not Indian walked in and were seated, no menus or drinks were offered, we sat for 10 minutes and another table came in , 2 Indian guys, the waitress asked them if they had ordered and started to serve them ignoring us and not making eye contact. At that point we walked out as we were not welcome. I understand they were understaffed but it seems like discrimination.
If you enjoy a long wait and rude service, then this is the place for you. There are better options a mile away on Route 40. After a few frustrating visits, we switched to Kebab Hut.
Has Sunday buffett. It's not your typical run of the mill Indian buffet that is prevalent in the US. Excellent selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Piping hot idlis (steamed rice pancakes) with three different chutneys coconut, mint, peanut. But I recommend trying the goat curry masala with the idli. There was jackfruit briyani which was amazing. Never seen it ever in any Indian restaurant in over a score years in the US. There was rare delicacies like mushroom curry, baby corn, crispy bonda, delicious Pongal (south Indian staple rice with lentils) that pairs well with sambhar. For soup lovers, there is rasam tamarind base, spicy soup that is perfect for cold winter day. Attu kaal paya is the goat leg broth soup that's tastes amazing. Again never treat.
My kids decided to try this when they saw the Special Biryani. Flavor-wise, the Special Biryani is very good. Heat-wise, it builds very quickly. All of us had to alternate between that and naan bread. My oldest got a glass of milk and started spooning the (watery thin) yogurt sauce on his. We also had the gobi Manchuria, which our picky veggie avoider actually liked. Our middle one had butter chicken, which he inhaled. I ordered palak paneer for my wife and requested it not spicy , in case they add chiles or something else spicy to their version. She had one tiny bite and declared it was too spicy. The rest of us tried it, and, while there 's a little bit of a black pepper note at the end, it 's not actually spicy. We 'll likely be back, but I 'll have to pick up something for my wife elsewhere, because she won 't even entertain the thought of trying it again.
Frequently use this establishment for our Friday night dinner. Good food, normally freshly cooked and very tasty. One of the best options in the area that we have found. One tip is to check you order before you leave. Highly recommended.
