Being a vegetarian is in france not easy unless they want to eat pizza every day! So we stumbled over this pasta/salad bar, who advertised that all his dishes could be made without meat, I was sold immediately. what I did not expect was such a friendly restaurant where I could compose my own dish and where the food was excellent, all ready to order and so fresh. General portions sizes and accompanied by fresh partial salad, this meal has set us up for the day. it is clearly a popular place, so we had a little waiting, but we really didn't notice it. we would go back here in a definite way. I also noticed that another reviewer mentioned that the take-out was a good idea for a picnic. I wish I knew.

The relatiw new restaurant in castres that specializes in a simple formula of pasta salat or salatcomosée (they get to choose the 6 items next to the salat leaves) with their choice of dressings. my friend and I had both the salad plates, which were very fresh and tasty, served with good brot. the grundsalat (or pasta small salat) is 8 euro; if they add a dessert or drink, it is 10 euro; if they add both a dessertdrink, it is 11.50 good value for money. the expresso was then an extra 1.50 euro and was good. the choice of desserts was wide and although I usually did not dessert, the cream caramel was one of the best I tasted at location. my lunch partner had two desserts and the chocolate mousse was also wonderful. the portions are generous. the women who do the place were charming and went out of their way to support my friend who has special food problems. with good weather the restaurant is open to the street - what makes beautiful people watch, although they might find the street noise a little. centrally located directly on the square jean jaures in the heart of castres. it is only open for lunch: 11.30-3 clock they also make take-aways - so if they needed a picnic for a car ride, this would be a good option.

Generous portions sizes and accompanied by fresh side salad, this meal set us up for the day. It's clearly a popular place so we had a bit of a wait but we really didn't mind. The basic salad (or pasta & small salad) is 8 euros; if you add a dessert or drink it's 10 euros; if you add BOTH a dessert & drink it's 11.50. Good value for money. The expresso afterwards was an extra 1.50 euros and was good quality.The choice of desserts was wide and though I don't usually have dessert, the creme caramel was one of the best I've tasted--fait maison--made on site. My lunch partner had TWO desserts and the chocolate mousse was wonderful too.The portion sizes are generous. In good weather the restaurant is open to the street--which makes nice people-watching, though you might find the street noise a bit much. Centrally located just off Place Jean Jaures in the heart of Castres.It's only open for lunch: 11.30-3pm. They do take-aways too--so if you needed a picnic for a car journey, this would be good option.
