Bidra med feedbackStayed at this hotel 11january. Room was clean and comfortable and the bottle of Prosecco was very welcome. After a swim in the spa dinner in the Mill Restaurant was fantastic and very well priced. Staff were courteous and attentive. We ended the evening in Charlie’s bistro where there was the entertainment was excellent. All in all great value for money.
Went today with my family all 13 of us. We have been before and it has been amazing. Today I was actually in school at how bad the service was. £370 for a family meal and honestly I would not recommend it to anyone! the entire staff needed an attitude adjustment they were shockingly rude. 45 mines for drinks to come and only half came, another 20 mins on the rest of our drinks and they were all wrong, by this point we just drank them we had already finished our starter and main. They had elderly people taking plates of the tables as of which my mother in law got a plate dropped onto her shirt without even an apology! My sister fell in and couldn’t eat her food she was refused a doggy bag to take the food home that she had already had on her plate! £45 for 3 kids who didn’t even eat a plate between them! Said the food wasn’t nice!! When I phoned after to complain the woman on the phone could not care less basically told me “there’s not much I can do about, I’m not exactly sure what your asking me to do” is that a joke?! After spending £370 in they’re hostel I couldn’t even get an apology for how they’re staff acted. (Most of the staff was about 16-18 and looked like they didn’t want to be there at all and everything was so slow!!! I am completely shocked more at the service from staff than anything and I won’t be back.
Waited to be seated nearly 20min after our booking time even though this restaurant wasn’t busy (2 other tables) No apologies or excuses to why we had to wait so long from staff either? The menu hasn’t got a great variety but we ordered the steak done med and when it arrived it was so over cooked so tough and so greasy on the plate. No amount of season for grabbing that I put on this made it taste any better it was absolutely tasteless. The triple cooked chips tasted like they’d been left sitting for so long they were so hard to eat. Over all the service and portion sizes don’t match up to the price the food quality and service of this restaurant have drastically went down hill for that reason we will not be returning until there are improvements made overall.
We visited La Mon for the Mother's Day Carvery in March 2023 and were extremely disappointed. The service was terrible - we waited 40 minutes for our drinks order despite speaking to the manageress. The wine selection was limited and the bottle we ordered was not good. The food was average at best. Things took a turn for the worse when we encountered a rude and aggressive individual working behind the bar. His behavior was unacceptable towards my wife and sons, as well as other customers. When I tried to complain and asked for his name, he refused twice. It turns out he was the General Manager, Pat Moran. Due to his behavior, we have canceled our upcoming booking at the restaurant. I urge others to avoid this establishment and choose a restaurant that values their customers.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversaryat the carvery today. Not what it was like the last time we went...maybe due to covid? Reduced choice of starters and veg options were cabbage or parsnip and carrot. Only gravy no pepper sauce. Yorkshire puddings were flat and rubbery. What we had was hot and tasted ok.. the lemon tarte was delicioys! 3 waitresses walked past a fallen fork without a care... definitely gone down hill in my experience. Not worth £28!
