Fratelli Mascolo'o Scialapopolo

We only went to Mascolo's... or is it Scialapopolo's?... because the restaurant we were already totally addicted to was closed that evening. It was down a bit of a driveway, and frankly reminded me a bit of some of the places we've eaten in central Africa in the past :-D. If you're looking for atmosphere, I wouldn't suggest you'll find it here. We and the two or three other couples or families who cam ein after us occupied just a few scattered tables in a vast hall that must seat about 200! But having said that, they were friendly and polite and the food was amazing. Both the pizzas we ordered were totally delicious. I would classify it as the best one I had all week (possibly apart from the slice from the bakery/lunch counter at the Auchan supermarket at Pompeii). And as ever, enough to take some away for the next day's lunch. This is also the place where the now nationally popular panuozzo version of pizza was invented about 30 years ago, apparently. We saw people ordering it, so we did some online research, and were amazed to discovered that this was the place! It's a kind of crunchy pizza sandwich... So, yeah... if you're in the area, this is a good choice for an excellent meal. But if you're there on a Tuesday night, don't expect a lot of atmoshpere!

Great experience we ate there twice, first the bread specialities, and then some pasta, the food was nice, good pice, good quality and dynamic service. We will go again before we leave

Was staying next door at La Medusa. They did us a takeaway'1kg' pizza which is the size of a skateboard for 9 euros and we were still eating it on the flight home Veyr tasty, ready within minutes. One of the few places in town open on a Monday night.

Disappointing appetizer, not fresh mozzarella, discreet breadcrumbs, courteous staff, cleanliness of the good room, account edequated to the service it offers, no more than stars

Saturday together friends we wanted to go gragnano x a panuozzo then considered traffic we deviated x shalapopolo. equally a delicious pizza panuozzo panzerotti and frittelle flowers pumpkin. sin there was fresh fish and seafood next time a beautiful spaghettata.
