Chateau de Jau - Cases-de-Pène

Since we were in the hills near Cases de Pene, a visit to this tasting dinner seemed a good idea for a solemn lunch. We had a one and a half hour walk for the twelve thirty booking for lunch each...has a 12.30 booking, as far as I could collect. It was prepared with appetite for about a three-hour session through the 7 courses and accompanying wine tasting. Each presentation of the wine naturally accompanied a detailed description of its character and its merits in French. I nodded wisely and made the corresponding marmots and words of approval. Pay attention to the red, although they come by 14.5% and 15.0% a 250ml glass of it and you are above the border. Of course I had no such problem. Around half three we have made our selection of wines to buy and entwined in an adjoining building to the gallery. The three hours walk back to our accomodation ended a beautiful day.

Real grill with Sarments de vigne and many wines. Great location. Menu with Côtelettes d agneau. Catalan sauces.

OK; you need to book in advance; the restaurant is well off the main highway; the menu is unvaried... but having said that, what a good deal! It's advisable to either go with a non drinking companion, or book a taxi, though, as the wine is...unlimited and well worth the visit alone and the food and ambiance (dining outdoors overlooking the fishpond) are also excellent. Six courses of food, each accompanied by a different one of the estate's wines... We will be back!

Loved our visit here once again. It is the third time we have made our way along the dirt track to this beautiful chateau and undoubtedly we will go again. It is such a relaxing experience to eat lovely food, each course accompanied by wine...from the estate. The menu doesn't change but that isn't a problem. It is simple food and very high quality excellent ham, fine sausage, the best lamb chops ever... Perfect

Super frame in the middle of the vineyards, the very nice and available staff to answer questions. When at meals, average, without more, I would say ordinary, as at home. by account of very good wines in tasting that catches up a little bit the price. when at the selling price of its same wine !!!!!!! at sock, at super u, the bib of 3 liters is 3.5 euros less expensive than the property????????
