Awaze Ethiopian Eritrean Cuisine - Cary

Excellent. Just excellent. No notes. The food is nourishing and flavorful.

I have had foods from different cultures and backgrounds from Indian, Peru, Dominican, Latin, Mexican, Asian etc. African/Etheopean food is just not for me. This was my 4th time trying simular restaurants. Dont get me wrong, the food and quality is there. I got the meat sampler and the raw meat kifto special. The meat samplers are pretty good and even the raw meat except I couldn’t handle it as much as I wanted to. The meat samplers tasted like a tomato/onion puree style sauce. The raw meat reminds me of the slim jim taste. I have had raw Thai beef larb so that’s one reason I wanted to try this dish. Not for the weak I have to say even I myself couldn’t handle it fully. Overall, food is good but its not for me, give it a try!

What can I say about Awaze Ethiopian Eritrean Cuisine? Amazing food. This was my first time eating Ethiopian food, and I was blown away. From the minute I entered the restaurant, a friendly waitress greeted me; she was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. I ordered a meat sampler and was amazed at how well the dish tasted. The spicy sauces blended exceptionally well. I also ordered the Lamb Awaze tips. The lamb was incredibly tender. It's hands down the best food I’ve tried in NC. Take it from me: do yourself a favor and give this restaurant a shot.

This is my first time to try the Ethiopian food. Love the atmosphere but the portion is small.

If you’ve never experienced Ethiopian food, you must!! The food here was tremendous and I didn’t have to use any utensils, once I was taught how to eat and enjoy the food. I loved the lamb tips and the dipping foods! The lady that waited on us was actually from Ethiopia and was awesome!! Great atmosphere!! I’ll definitely come back again, and again!!John from Indiana!!
